Job Description

Are you a savvy storyteller? A witty wordsmith? A content connoisseur?

The Tennessee Magazine is searching – nay, questing – for a Writer and Content Creator to join our small but mighty team. In this role, you’ll craft compelling content, search out spellbinding stories and captivate the state with your skilled wordsmithing.

We are looking for an individual with three years of experience to serve as lead feature writer for The Tennessee Magazine – the state’s most widely read and recognized lifestyle magazine. You’ll also write content for digital platforms, publications and speeches. If you are equally talented with camera as you are with quill, that’s even better. Further training under master media craftsmen will be available.

The ideal candidate loves the idea of writing for an ink-on-paper, arrive-in-the-mailbox, touched-with-hands magazine. We do digital, too, but print is our passion. Our circulation exceeds the combined circulation of the state’s 10 largest newspapers, and our readers are just as passionate about the magazine as we are.

To most effectively immerse readers in your storytelling, some travel across Tennessee will be necessary. Your quests to tell these captivating tales are your portal to personally experiencing the best of Tennessee. Along the way, you’ll strengthen your communications skills and network with story sources as well as utility and media professionals.
