The IT Data Engineer and Analyst will develop and manage data architecture, integration and governance along with business applications for Duck River Electric Membership Corporation (DREMC) to ensure business continuity.


Internal Responsibility – The IT Data Engineer and Analyst works collaboratively across DREMC offices to support the data needs of the Cooperative and ensures business continuity.

External Responsibility –The IT Data Engineer and Analyst communicates and works closely with outside IT vendors regarding DREMC data and applicable initiatives and applications.


Consistently demonstrates a behavioral pattern that supports DREMC’s 11 Essential Attributes.
Design, develop, and manage our Enterprise Data Warehouse and associated ETL pipelines.
Create and maintain business intelligence tools and reporting solutions, using SQL Server Reporting Services, Tableau Desktop, and Tableau Server.
Develop and support custom business applications using C#, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, XAML, SQL, and MVC/MVVM design patterns.
Oversee database administration for OLAP and OLTP within SQL Server environments, ensuring data integrity, confidentiality, and governance.
Provide comprehensive application support, including maintenance, updates, and user training.
Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and emerging technology.
Study and apply DREMC policies, procedures, by-laws, rules, and regulations.
Effectively communicate with the DREMC team to ensure performed work causes minimal interruption to business.

Education — High school diploma required. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in computer science, information systems, engineering or a related field preferred.

Experience — Minimum of five (5) years of experience in data engineering, data analysis, or business intelligence preferred.

Certification/License, etc. — Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Tennessee Driver’s License. Must be eligible and remain insured as a driver by the Cooperative’s group liability policy for the automotive fleet.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities — Proficiency in database development and administration, specifically with SQL (T-SQL or PL/SQL). Proven experience in developing, maintaining, and managing Enterprise Data Warehouses and ETL processes. Expertise in business intelligence reporting, with hands-on experience in SQL Server Reporting Services, Tableau Desktop, and Tableau Server. Experience in application development, particularly using technologies such as C#, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, XAML, and familiar with MVC or MVVM design patterns. Experience in software and application support, including performing application updates, integration support, and training users. Prior responsibility with database administration in OLAP and OLTP environments, with a focus on ensuring data integrity and adherence to data governance standards is a plus.  Ability to occasionally lift and carry 25-50 pounds. Ability to sit for long periods of time. Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, squat, push and/or pull. Possesses effective oral and written communications skills. Ability to prioritize, delegate and meet deadlines.
