Shutterbug contest winners

Portrait photography can be difficult. More than a mere snapshot of a person you know, an effective portrait provides a window into the subject’s soul, giving viewers a more complete idea – beyond just physical characteristics – of just who that subject is.

As with all of our Shutterbug Photography Contests, judging the entries in our “Portraits” competition was difficult, and there was no shortage of interesting, inspiring and downright entertaining entries – more than 1,100 were submitted. The judges thoroughly enjoyed “meeting” your parents, grandparents, children, friends, significant others and even pets and learning so much about these subjects simply by viewing the printed photograph.

You can view the winners below.

The winners and the honorable mentions are posted online, but we are unable to upload all 1,100 entries. Thanks to your grandson and all of the others who took the time to enter this year’s contest.

I have gone to your website listed in The Tennessee Magazine to “see more wonderful entries” as you stated. In a reply you made to another commenter, you stated winners and honorable mentions are online, but in your magazine it is stated that more entries are online. HOW CAN I SEE THEM ? I have entered the contest the last 2 years with comparable pictures to the winners and runners up and would like to see my pictures if they are posted. If other entries besides winners and honorable mentions are not posted, why did the magazine state that they were?
